I am an experienced Marriage Family and Child psychotherapist with extensive experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment, substance abuse, grief and loss, and relationship difficulties. I'm committed to being a culturally competent therapist, my practice is diverse and includes individuals and couples of all ages, races, genders and sexual orientations.
My approach and theoretical orientation combines both Psychodynamic (past) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (present) as well as Integrative, incorporating Attachment Theory, Mindfulness and Relational. My specialties include being able to tailor a long term therapy model into a short term model with effective results. Both models are available to assist one in making shifts necessary to change patterns and overcome obstacles leading to more satisfying experiences and fulfillment.
I have expertise and special training in both infant parent attachment and adult attachment models that clients have found quite useful in looking at their relational patterns and quality of attachment with others. I offer both consultations and presentations to community agencies, clinics, and schools in several areas including multicultural competency, working with children and families impacted by ADHD and a wide range of topics. I am an Adjunct Professor for USF's, Graduate School of Counseling and Psychology , teaching Master's level courses in Theory of Counseling as well as Developmental Psychology. I also supervise MFT Trainees and Associates through USF's Center for Child and Family Development. I keep abreast of latest research and best therapy practices.
